With increasing focus on containment for pharmaceutical manufacturing, active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) are becoming more targeted, hence more potent and prolific. Environmental, health and safety (EHS) pressures push for the use of engineering controls, but the implementation of RABS and isolation technology may be an ideal solution for some manufactures, but not cost effective for others.

Objectives:

At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:

Understand that not all containment devices are created equal

Realize there is a place for most devices, but not all devices work in all places

To see that each installation is unique - what worked in one condition may not work in another

Understand that all containment systems require contained transfers and access - adding and/or removing materials
